10. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Age of Ultron often gets left behind in the shadows of the first Avengers glory. Despite not receiving its due, this movie still packs a punch and delivers on what a good Marvel movie should be. |
9. X-Men:First Class
X Men: First Class was the worlds first introduction to the younger versions of Professor X and Magneto. Matthew Vaughn was able to breathe life into a franchise that desperately needed it. Fassbender and Mcavoy deliver outstanding performances as the X Men climbed back into the spotlight.

8. Iron Man
Marvel's first installment into the MCU is arguably one of its best. With Robert Downey Jr. perfectly embodying the spirit of Iron Man, and Jon Favreau at the helm, Iron Man was destined to be the perfect kicking off point for the larger universe.

The Avengers is seen by many as the perfect superhero team movie. Although I acknowledge its flaws, I cannot deny the overall excitement to be had at this movie. Watching Hulk toss Loki around is enough fun in itself to earn a place on this list.

The first truly successful rated R superhero movie, Deadpool is an absolute thrill ride at the theater. Ryan Reynolds shooting off one liners while fighting in true Deadpool style was the perfect mixture for this film. Lets all hope that Logan can follow in its footsteps and become another successful R rated adaptation.
5. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Amongst the swirl of unwarranted critical backlash, Batman v Superman stands as another notch on Zack Snyder's belt of successful comic book adaptations. Outfitted with visuals straight out of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and the continuing struggle of Superman to find his place among humanity, this movie succeeds both visually and narratively. |
4. Guardians of the Galaxy
What better director than James Gunn to direct the B list, off beat, Marvel superheroes that make up the Guardians of the Galaxy. Wickedly humorous and character driven, Guardians manages to find a unique niche in the greater MCU while still remaining devout to its tone. |
3. Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: Civil War epitomizes the strengths of the MCU; Fun, action packed, and character focused. The airport fight scene is a combination of all of these traits in a more fantastic way than anyone could possibly imagine. Where Civil War thrives, however, is in the complex question it asks regarding superheroes roles in modern day politics and society.
2. X Men: Days of Future Past
X Men: Days of Future Past is the perfect X Men movie. With the sentinels as more than formidable allies, with the capabilities to almost completely eradicate the X Men, there is no other option, but to go back in time and try to stop them from ever being made. Sound familiar? Well, do not be dismayed, because this age old trope is executed to perfection and the X Men universe was successfully reset. |

From the offset of this movie, where Jor El is fighting both time and General Zod to save his son, you know it is going to be a visual and literary masterpiece. Superman is finally given the proper effects the character has long since been awaiting, but that is not this movies defining trait. The real success of Man of Steel is found in the realistic and passionate take on how an alien god would fit into today's world. And don't forget, the fight scene between General Zod and Superman at the end is worth the price of admission alone.
