Jake's Top 10 Superhero Portrayals of All Time!

10. Evan Peters as Quicksilver

While most people enjoy his scenes for the groundbreaking action and catchy song, they forget that he captures the characters charisma perfectly. He brings a sense of humor to the role which you can tell comes straight from the actor himself.

9. Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther

I was not expecting his performance in Civil War to be as good as it was. But, his accent was spot on and he obtained the despair necessary for the character's arc.

8. Ben Affleck as Batman

Talk about breaking expectations, none on this list or maybe even in performances of all time compare to Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader. When he was casted, people were outraged saying that he did not have the skill to play such a complex character. But, he ended up being the best part of Batman V Superman giving us a dark and gritty portrayal that we needed.

7. Henry Cavill as Superman

Many people say that Cavill does not have the acting chops to play this role. But, if you pay close attention, you can see him grasp the emotional distress that he goes through in the DCEU movies. His performance is spot on while also transforming into the character physically putting on large masses of muscle.

6. Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach

Many people forget about all of the great performances in Watchmen. It was between him or Billy Crudup's Dr. Manhattan, and I feel that Haley's portrayal is much more captivating. He understands the darkness needed to have to bring this character to life as he transforms his voice and facial expressions as needed. Even with the mask on, you know what the character is expressing due to the actor's phenomenal performance.

5. Chris Pratt as Star Lord

Let's be honest, we all couldn't help to dance or sing along with Chris Pratt's antics in Guardians of the Galaxy. He brought the humor that he is known for to this lovable character. There is no one else I would have wanted to become a superhero due to his natural humor and likable qualities. In addition, he transformed his body in what I would say is one of the greatest Hollywood body transformations ever.

4. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Personally, I did not know much nor was I interested in this character before I saw Jackman's performance. He brought so much realism to such an unrealistic character. Also, you can really see the despair behind the character in Jackman's eyes when he talks about everything that he has been through.

3. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool

Having definitely the funniest superhero performance of all time, Reynold's captures the character's raunchy sense of humor while providing us with the perfect look. The best part about this performance is how similar the character and the actor are. It is almost as if he is playing himself just with superpowers.

2. Chris Evans as Captain America

Redeeming himself big time from the mediocre Fantastic Four movies, Evans transformed himself into Captain America! I will be truthful in saying that I was not a fan at all of this character before he was brought to life by Evans. This was mainly because of how corny and underdeveloped he was. But, Evans brought something new to the role. He modernized and transcended the character to become one of the most influential movie characters of the 21st century.

1. Robert Downy Jr. as Iron Man

Who makes us laugh in every MCU movie that he is in? That's right, it's Robert Downy Jr. He is the perfect fit for this sarcastic character. His intelligence and humor in the role seems to really come from the actor himself. Downy started off the MCU as Iron Man making him one of America's coolest and most popular characters in one of the greatest comeback stories in acting history.
